Terms of Service
These are the terms governing the use of the Research79 service (hereinafter "Service") operated by newmean.ai (hereinafter "Company").

Article 1 General Provisions and Effect/Amendment of Terms
① These Terms set forth the basic provisions governing the use of the Service provided by the Company.
② These Terms take effect upon posting on the service screen or notification to users.
③ The Company may amend these Terms within the scope that does not violate applicable laws such as the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions.
④ Upon amending these Terms, the Company shall notify users at least 7 days before the effective date via in-service notice or email. For changes that are unfavorable to users or involve significant matters, the notice period is 30 days.
⑤ If a user does not agree to the amended Terms, they may discontinue use of the Service and request membership withdrawal. Continued use after notice shall be deemed acceptance of the amended Terms.
Article 2 Formation of Service Agreement
① The service agreement is formed when the user logs in via Google OAuth 2.0 and agrees to these Terms.
② Users under the age of 14 may not register for this Service. If a user under 14 is identified, the Company will immediately delete the account and destroy all related personal information.
③ Users may access free features (sample data analysis, 80% result preview) without logging in.
Article 3 Use of the Service
① The Company provides the following services:
- Upload of survey data (.xlsx, .xls, .csv, .sav) and automated statistical analysis
- Automatic variable type detection and editing
- Automated generation of APA 7th edition statistical interpretation (AI-assisted)
- Storage and retrieval of analysis history (for logged-in users)
- Download of analysis result reports (for paying users)
② The Service is in principle available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, the service may be temporarily interrupted due to system maintenance, failure, or technical reasons.
③ The 80% analysis results provided free of charge are offered for the purpose of trial use (try-before-buy), allowing users to make an informed purchase decision.
Article 4 Fees and Payment
① The current base analysis fee for the Service is KRW 59,000 (VAT included). (Prices are subject to change with prior notice.)
② Payment is processed via the Company's designated payment gateway (PortOne) by credit card.
③ Upon payment completion, the full data-based analysis results are provided immediately.
Article 5 Subscription Withdrawal and Refund
① In principle, users may withdraw their subscription within 7 days of payment without providing a reason (pursuant to Article 17(1) of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).
② However, the paid analysis results provided by the Company constitute reproducible digital content whose intrinsic value (information precedence, confidentiality, and novelty) is lost the moment it is disclosed. Accordingly, once payment is completed and the 100% full analysis results have been delivered to the user, subscription withdrawal (refund) is restricted pursuant to Article 17(2)(5) of the same Act. The Company provides explicit notice of this fact and obtains the user's separate consent prior to payment.
③ Refunds are exceptionally available where the Company is at fault (e.g., results not delivered due to a system error, duplicate billing, significant service defect) or where a refund obligation arises by operation of law. For details regarding the grounds for refund restriction, exceptional refund grounds, and processing procedures, please refer to the separate Refund Policy.
Article 6 Rights to Uploaded Data and Results
① Rights to uploaded data: The copyright and personal information contained in survey files uploaded by users belong to the users or the original rights holders of such data.
② Data processing principles: The Company processes uploaded survey files solely for the purpose of statistical analysis on a temporary basis, and deletes them immediately upon completion of analysis. Original files are not permanently stored on the server.
③ Use of analysis results: Users may freely use the analysis results (statistical figures, APA interpretations, tables, charts, etc.) for academic, commercial, or any other purposes without restriction.
④ Responsibility for respondent consent: Users bear the responsibility to obtain prior consent from survey respondents for the collection and use of the relevant data. Any legal disputes arising from a breach of this obligation are the sole responsibility of the user.
Article 7 Intellectual Property Rights
① All intellectual property rights, including copyrights, in the software, algorithms, UI/UX design, brand logos, and domains developed by the Company belong to the Company.
② Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or use for commercial purposes any elements of the Service without the Company's prior written consent.
Article 8 User Obligations
Users must not engage in the following activities:
- Misappropriating another person's information or registering false information
- Interfering with the normal operation of the Service (DDoS attacks, abnormal bulk requests, etc.)
- Uploading data for which prior consent has not been obtained from survey respondents
- Acts prohibited by law or contrary to public order and morals
- Infringing on the intellectual property rights of the Company or third parties
Article 9 Service Interruption
① The Company may temporarily suspend service provision due to maintenance, inspection, replacement, or failure of computer and information communications equipment.
② Planned service interruptions will be announced in advance through in-service notices.
③ The Company bears no liability for service interruptions caused by force majeure events (natural disasters, war, terrorism, large-scale power outages, etc.).
Article 10 Limitation of Liability
① The Company is not liable for damages arising from information obtained by users through the Service, except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the Company.
② The APA interpretations generated by AI are reference materials based on statistical figures; final academic interpretive judgment and responsibility rest with the user.
③ The Company does not intervene in disputes arising between users or between users and third parties through the Service, and is not liable for damages resulting therefrom.
④ Where Company liability is found, the scope of damages shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for use of the Service (except in cases involving intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or restrictions on consumer rights under applicable consumer protection law).
Article 11 Privacy Protection
The Company collects and processes users' personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws. For details, please refer to the separate Privacy Policy.
Article 12 Termination of Agreement
① Users may terminate the service agreement at any time using the "Withdraw membership" function within the service. Personal information following withdrawal will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
② The Company may terminate the service agreement or restrict service use without prior notice if a user:
- Misappropriates another person's information or registers false information
- Violates these Terms
- Interferes with the normal operation of the Service
Article 13 Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction
① Disputes arising from these Terms and the use of the Service shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
② The Incheon District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for litigation related to the use of the Service.
③ For consumer disputes, users may seek resolution through the Korea Consumer Agency (1372) or the Consumer Dispute Mediation Committee.
Article 14 Supplementary Provisions
Effective Date: These Terms take effect from April 30, 2026.
